A lot of waffle about my life on a small property in Australia and the people and animals that share it with me.

Fanny the Mother Goose
Fanny is sitting on a clutch of eggs in our yard. I offered her this boat canopy I bought from the recycle shop at the local dump. I bedded down some straw inside and it was placed under the mango tree out of the heat and rain. All was beautiful but she decided the weeds are a much better option. There is no pleasing some people. Maybe Fanny is not a pussy. Maybe she is tough and scoffs at such luxury. Her goslings will be brought up in the elements and survive damn it! Don't pander to this one for she is a real 'woman' and will conquer adversity on her own.

Bruce the goose is actually using the boat canopy sometimes for his sleeping quarters. I see him occasionally walk around the canopy and check for leaks or damage or maybe where he could improve on its general appearance. His inspection comprises the occasional nibble...and that's it really. Such a man!
