Corrugated Magpie

We had this sign made up by the "Tin Lady", a talented woman in a nearby town who makes signs, wall hangings and garden stakes out of corrugated iron. They usually feature farm animals and native fauna. Corrugated Magpie is the unofficial name of our property. The name comes from our early days here when the magpies would stand on top of our chimney and corrugated roof and sing beautifully. The sound would travel down the chimney to the eat-in kitchen and, combined with the morning sun streaming in the enlarged kitchen window, it made our mornings quite special. These days it is the rosellas (parrots) that sit on the top of the chimney and chatter away. Obviously there has been a change in pecking order on our roof.
